In 2008, equipment was added to the gymnasium in the old St. Bernard High School gym to provide youth in West Central Iowa the opportunity to improve their baseball and softball skills throughout the year. Known as "The Cage," it features three batting cages, several pitching machines, pitching mounds, tee stations and soft toss stations. The gym is equipped so that it can easily be modified to turn into "The Cage" or to go back to being available for pick-up basketball games.

The Cage is operated by Randy Snyder, Head Coach for the state-qualifying Kuemper Catholic baseball team , and Mark Feilmeier.
